Igor Immerman, MD

Dr. Igor Immerman is an orthopaedic surgeon with specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery. Treating all conditions of the upper extremity, from the simple to the complex, Dr. Immerman’s philosophy of care is that each patient should be treated as a unique person and not by a cookie-cutter, protocol-only approach. He spends time getting to know each patient, and works with the patient to choose the right treatment, whether surgical or nonsurgical, that is best for a patient’s specific situation.

Utku Kandemir, MD, FACS

Utku Kandemir was born in Talas, Türkiye (Turkey). He graduated from Galatasaray Lisesi, a renowned high school in the country. After he received his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical School, Ankara, Turkey in 1993, he did two years of residency in Internal Medicine at Hacettepe University Medical School. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey in 2000. During his Chief Residency year, he spent three months at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania.

Gopal Lalchandani, MD

Dr. Gopal Lalchandani is an orthopedic surgeon who cares for patients of all ages with upper extremity (from the elbow to the fingertip) injuries and conditions. He specializes in acute upper limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction of complex injuries. He also cares for a variety of other conditions affecting the upper extremities, including sports-related injuries, arthritis, carpal tunnel, tendon lacerations and ligament injuries. He also treats pediatric congenital hand disorders and complex elbow injuries.

Nicolas Lee, MD

Dr. Nicolas Lee, MD, joined the faculty at UCSF in 2013, and he currently serves as Medical Director of Orthopaedic Services at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG), Chief of Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity at ZSFG, and Program Director of the UCSF Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship.

Dr. Lee's clinical interests include upper extremity elective and trauma care from the fingertip to the shoulder. He has an additional interest in soft tissue coverage and microvascular surgery. He is committed to high quality patient care and resident education.

Lauren Santiesteban, MD

Santiesteban, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery.Treating all conditions of the upper extremity, from the simple to the complex, Dr. Santiesteban’s philosophy of care is that each patient should be treated as a unique person and not by a cookie-cutter, protocol-only approach. Lauren Shapiro, MD, MS

Dr. Shapiro has clinical expertise in conditions of the upper extremity, including the hand, wrist, and elbow. Her clinical interests include traumatic hand and forearm injuries stemming from sports-related injuries to acute traumas as well as common issues such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, and ligament and tendon injuries.
